What We're About

Average Guy Ministries strives to engage with men who are struggling on a daily basis to just keep up.  Taking a break, even seems just beyond their grasp, and they’re tired of the struggle. Going through life alone is at the core of this struggle and we believe that pulling together will lessen this burden.

We believe that we do not have this power within ourselves. We believe that when 2 or 3 come together great things can happen.  We further believe that where 2 or more believers in Jesus Christ are gathered, there He will be among them and His power will flow through them.

Average Guy Ministries believes in the triune Godhead made up of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.  We believe that the Father created all things, that He sent His only Son, Jesus, to earth to live among us and die for us after which He was raised from the dead and now sits at the right hand of the Father. We believe that the Holy Spirit resides in all who confess that Jesus is Lord and that He was raised from the dead so that the sins of man might be forgiven.  John 3:16, Romans 10:9, John 5:24.

I’m Steve, for sure an average guy,  and I’m calling together all average guys.  As I’ve thought about it I’ve come up with 4 main groups that we fit into:

-You have no desire to belong to a church.  You don’t trust the church and you don’t regard the Bible as anything worth reading or trusting.  Religion is foolishness and you’re not about to be fooled.  You don’t want any part of drinking that Kool- Aid.  However, down deep you have questions.

-You may or may not have confessed Jesus as Lord.  You are not sure where you stand with respect to the whole concept.  You don’t attend church regularly and maybe not at all.  You’ve got struggles, burdens and questions but you’re not sure who to talk with.

-You attend your local church.  You have confessed Jesus as Lord, but because of your work and schedules you are not able to attend the study groups or church programs like you would want to.  You would really like to find a way to plug in, but so far you are on your own.

-You are plugged into a local church. You have confessed Jesus as Lord, you attend the services every weekend and are active in the church programs.  You go to Bible study, you may even lead the study or maybe you are one of the elders or pastors.

Guys, it doesn’t matter which group you are in right now. We’re all striving to be better each day than the day before and we all want to be above average. By the way, I’ve lived in each group and know guys from each group.

Together we can help each other up and over the mountains that we face.

This site will offer blog posts for discussion, a Forum for Questions and Answers and a Virtual Bible Study for those who are on the run.  This site is not meant to replace your attendance at your local church but is meant to connect guys who would normally not have a way to do so.

And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
