Genesis 1:27
"So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them."
OK, wait a minute. Created? What about the Big Bang? What about evolution? Well, for the purpose of this article, we are going with creation. (Which as a side note, is my personal belief. Look for a future article on why I believe this way.)
My wife and I have two daughters. Our daughters have physical features and personality traits that resemble each other, as well as, resembles each of us. When we are together, people will often comment that they can tell we are related. Our girls are in our image.

God created man in His own image. Given all that God created, He chose us to be in His image. He purposely created us to have a relationship with Him. As a matter of fact, the Bible goes on to say that we were placed in charge of all creation.
“And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” And God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. You shall have them for food.”
Guys, we love our kids and would do anything for them and would give them the world. From the verses laid out here, doesn’t it sound like that is what God has done for us? God loves us! He wants what is best for us! And right from the beginning, He had a plan for us to be in a relationship with Him.
Take a minute to pray. Ask God to reveal to you what traits you have that are in His image. Listen, I’m here to tell you that if you go to God and seriously, intentionally and honestly ask Him, He will respond.
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.”
Matthew 7:7-8.
