Drinking the Kool- Aid

Have a drink. Nice, cool and refreshing. Nothing like it, on a hot day to push off the heat of the day, quench your thirst and make you feel like you’re ready to go on.

That’s what a lot of religious folks serve.

Refreshment from the everyday drudgery, feelgood encouragement and fellowship. And, you want to go where people know everyone’s all the same, you want to go where everybody knows your name. Well, that’s great for the local bar, Raccoon Club or park district, but if we’re talking about walking with God, there is much more to be attained than an hour or so of feelgood. We need heartfelt study of God’s complete word and prayer along with the good neighborly love.

You might be drinking Kool- Aid if you’re not at a church that measures eveything by scripture and strives to live every day doing what it says, to the glory of God.

“Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds. out of the mouth of God.” Matthew 4:4

“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”

1 Corinthinas 10:31
