You’re not a Loser

I came across this post on Facebook and it got me to thinking. See what you think.

If milk gets bad, it becomes yoghurt. Yoghurt is more valuable than milk. If it gets even worse, it turns to cheese. Cheese is more valuable than both yoghurt and milk. And if grape juice turns sour, it transforms into wine, which is even more expensive than grape juice. You are not bad because you made mistakes. Mistakes are the experiences that make you more valuable as a person. Alexander Fleming’s mistake led him to invent Penicillin. Don’t let your mistakes get you down. It is not practice that makes perfect. It is mistakes we learn from that makes perfect!

My Two cents:

It’s not the mistakes that make us perfect, it is the learning and choosing to do things different that makes us head towards perfection. Understanding we were off course and working to change our direction. Like it says, “Don’t let your mistakes get you down.”

It’s easy to say, what’s the use and continue making the mistakes over again that confirm your statement and allow you to admit you’re a loser. But if you know the mistake you can change.

Sometimes it takes someone to help you know you made the mistake and know how to take steps to turn that mistake around into perfection. That advice and your comittment to change are key. You have to want to and you have to accept progress over immediate success.

In our life as followers of Jesus, we will make mistakes, “sins”. If we have confessed that Jesus is Lord and given our life over to Him, He has given us the Holy Spirit to help us identify our sin and and turn it around to perfection. The process is called, “Repentance” and by God’s grace you can turn the biggest mistake or sinful life into something fantastic.

As a reminder you should know that success doesn’t come overnight. You will fall from time to time, but as long as you are falling less and less you should be encouraged that you are on your way to success. If you are heartfully looking to God for help, you can trust that He is right there with you in your struggle. Keep praying.

One more point. Get with a good friend who also loves Jesus and help each other overcone these mistakes. If you don’t have someone in your life or your church to confide in, then send me a note to Stevez@ averageguyministrirs.com . I’m willing to pray for you, with you, or talk through your process.

Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. James 5:16

The Holy Spirit does many things but all his work is for one thing only—to glorify Jesus and make him real to his people. The work of the Holy Spirit includes conviction of sin (John 16:8), regeneration (John 3:5-6), assurance of salvation (Romans 8:16), enlightenment (John 16:13), transformation (2 Corinthians)

Hang in there,

You are not a loser.
