The Plan, Part 4... The Other Side

For the past few weeks we’ve looked at the truth that God wants to have a relationship with us. However, given our desire to put ourselves first, we have broken that relationship and although He still gives us the balance of creation, which includes everything we need to survive, this broken relationship keeps us far from the opportunity He gives us to live with Him.

If only we could stop shouting, “We’re number one”! and admit we need God.

In spite, of the way we carry ourselves through this life we’ve been given, God continues to love us and desires the relationship to be whole again. He doesn’t want us stuck on the other side of the separation existing between us. He wants to save us from all the loss we will suffer from this separation.

“For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this is not of yourselves, it is the gift of God.” Ephesians 2:8

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life.” John 3:16

Check out the highlighted underlined words in the above scripture verses. God doesn’t expect us to work at regaining a relationship. There’s no way we can earn it. Remember from our blog last week that we earn the separation and death? Well, reunion and life is given to us as a gift.

God sent His son, Jesus, to come to earth and receive the wages of ALL our sins, which is death, and provided the work for us that closes the separation. He bridges the gap that exists between us and God.

Do you believe this?

For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit. 1 Peter 3:18

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. Romans 10:9

So, once again, do you believe this?

Or better stated, do you want to believe this?

Listen, it’s a gift from God, so take a minute and ask yourself if you want to keep struggling to gain peace? Or turn to God and receive that peace He offers as a gift.

The testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. The one who has the Son has the life; the one who does not have the Son of God does not have the life. 1 John 5:11

If you are reading this and have a strong sense within you that God is calling you, chances are He is. All you have to do is respond to His call and the relationship will be renewed.

Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me. Revelations 3:20

Just respond to Jesus in a prayer similar to the following:

Jesus, you have made us to be in a relationship with You and I see now that my self focus has caused me to look away from You causing us to be separated. In living for myself, I have allowed selfishness and sin to control me. I wish to turn towards You and receive the gift of life you have intended for us. I believe in my heart that You are the Son of God who came here to earth to die on the cross, as debt for our sin, to be raised from the dead and are now seated at the Father’s right hand. I declare You to be my Lord and Savior and wish to live in relationship with You. Please forgive me and hear my prayer.
