The Promise of Eternal Life

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.”

For God

Which could also be stated, “because God”. God here is the Creator of the universe, Creator of all life, the Almighty Father.

So loved the world

In other words, loved the world so much. Are you in the world? Then this is for you and every one around you. Notice it doesn’t say, loved the ones who earned it or only certain guys.

That He gave

We’re talking about something that is given to us by God, not earned.

His only Son

This refers to Jesus and solely to Jesus. God’s only son. He has no other.

That whoever

Open to the world but now referring to an individual

Believes in Him

Who’s Him? That would be Jesus, God’s only Son given to us. Receive Him.

Should not perish but have eternal life.

No death (hell) but eternal life (heaven)

-Let’s review:

The Creator of life loves you and everyone around you so much that He gave you Jesus and if you receive Jesus, you will not go to hell, but rather to heaven.

-An assignment for this week:

Read this verse each day. Pray. Ask God to help you understand. Set your phone alarm each day for 3:16 and answer the alarm with a short shout out of thanks to God asking Him for understanding. Give it a chance. Do it from your heart.

Jeremiah 29:13 says: You will seek Me and find Me, when you seek Me with all your heart.

How true.

Coming to Him, asking Him must start with believing in Him. We hear that said as confessing He is Lord.

Hebrews 11:6 points this out,

And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

Not everyone fits into that verse to start off but everyone is welcome to as the verse of this post points out.

Thanks for your comment and lets keep connected.

It seems that God is always there for us, we just have to ask for his help, and put our faith in Him. That is awesome to know we have Savior who will never leave us.
