Evolution... by Greg Podraza

Is Evolution True and Why Does it Matter

(Suggestion: If you have not read the post "The Plan...In His Image", please read it along with this post.)

Is Evolution True?

Evolution is not true. We know this because God tells us so in His word, the Bible. Evolution is a theory that all life came from non-life and evolved over billions of years from single-celled organisms into the vast array of life we see now.

God tells us that there was no death in His creation until the first man, Adam, sinned (Romans 5:12).

Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men[a] because all sinned

Therefore, we know that man existed before death existed. Since death is necessary for evolution to take place there is no possibility that man came about by evolving. God tells us that He created the universe including humans and the other “kinds” (Genesis 1:21) of creatures in six days.

So God created the great sea creatures and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarm, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

We know that He means 24-hour days because of the words used and the context of the passages in the books of the Bible called Genesis and Exodus (Exodus 20:8-11).

“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor, and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

It all boils down to who we choose to believe.

We can either believe in the theories of fallible human beings, none of which has ever witnessed one species evolving into another, or we can believe God. God was the only one present when He created. He is the only one who has never erred, and He is the only intellect capable of such an amazing creation.

When we compromise God’s word by sending a mixed message, we weaken our witness to a world desperately in need of God’s truth. The mixed message often sent is that the Bible cannot be trusted in its account of creation, but it can be trusted in its proclamation of God’s plan of salvation for mankind. All of God’s word is true. All contradictions to God’s word are false. Let’s stand firmly on God’s word as we glorify Him and as we love all people by believing in and by proclaiming all of God’s truth.
