I didn't ask to be born, yet here I am.
The Bible says that God knew me before I was born in my mother's womb and that He knit me together. I didn't ask to be born but God wanted me to be born, The Bible goes on to say that He has plans for me.
In order to find out those plans we need to be able to communicate with Him. How do we do that? Well, first He gave us His son, Jesus, so we could have a relationship. Second, He gave us a book that instructs us, an owner's manual. Third, He gave us prayer so that we can talk to Him. And fourth, He gave us the Holy Spirit to teach and guide us. He's gone pretty far so that we can know Him and His plans.
His plans call for us to be alive spiritually. To begin with we're born physically but God is spirit and we need to be alive spiritually to fully know Him. We didn't ask to be physically born, God did that, but we do need to ask to be spiritually born. That's called being born again. Born once physically and born again spiritually.
