Webster defines repent:
to turn from sin and dedicate oneself to the amendment of one's life
In the Bible, John the Baptist taught that the number one action should be to repent.
Jesus began His ministry by calling people to repentance.
From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Matthew 4:17
If your back is turned toward God, repentance means turning around and facing Him. Striving to understand who He is and building a relationship with Him. Knowing what He says about living this life so that we can live life to the fullest right now and through eternity. So that we might bring Him glory.
If you’ve never repented there’s never been a better time than right now. Repentance should be a part of our everyday life. Every time we slip away we should be fast to turn back toward Him.
